I heard David Faber announce this too. I've been hearing the Sony rumor ever since they agreed to acquire a 5% stake in GIC about 4 months ago, but this is the first time I have heard it announced on CNBC. Whether true or not, it is having a nice effect on the stock. I'm also an owner of Sony. They are aggressively moving into the whole digital video arena, and their recent activity could have led to unfounded speculation about a GIC purchase, but at the very least there should be more forthcoming on the partnership level.
