From Internet World Daily's Statistical Toolbox:

Web revenues in 1997 jumped to $21.8 billion from $2.7 billion in 1996
(+700%). Only the beginning though:
$ 74 Billion in 1998*
$180 Billion in 1999
$377 Billion in 2000

Sort of explains, at least in part, why Wall Street is excited about internet
stocks. What other sector will grow like this?
