Thank you for the post! I do understand what your saying. I am also a firm believer in seperation of Church and State! In case of Israel, you have to understand, we all have emotinal ties to Israel, and that makes the matter different!
As for God Cosen people, I think this is total nonsense! God chosen for what, to be punished for 2000 years! That is a foolish concept. We
are people like anyother, with one differecne. We were kept united
for 4000 years by sharing one God, one dietery laws, and one destiny,
and the hope of coming of the Meshiah and return to the Holy Land! He
has not mattrialized yet, but we returned!
If that is something specail, then be it!!
As a Jew, I do not approve of everything the Governmmnet of Israel does, on the moral grand, but not for a second I can afford to put in doubt the right of State of Israel to exist within her natural and historic boundries!
Without Israel, no Jewish person anywhere is safe! He who harms one Jew anywhere, on the ground that he is Jewish, the long arms of the State of Israel will reach out and make him pay! Here in Europe we have seen this over and over!
If the diaspora prospers and lives in safty, it is becasuse there is the State of Israel! However, I repeat, I am not in agreement with what ever the Israeli government does! If you want to discuss such matters and voice out your disagreement, then sould by all means!
Now, I like to ask a question. You, and Messrs. Markoff/Silver are all believers in Christ! If you believe in him, then yu should believe in love, brotherhood, and peace. So, why is it that you continue to disagree! You read and interpret the same scripture and basically say the same thing! I think you waste your precious time to argue over small details! Your both brothers in Chirst and that is what matters!
