I don't know anything about NEST but think it is interesting that the market doesn't seem to worry about how the growing competition will impact all these "portals." news.com This is the News.Com article about Lycos and AT&T. One might think that it could eventually impact YHOO and AOL, but both are up today. Of course we all knew about this deal, so one can argue it was already discounted, but hey. From the piece: When he announced the Web-based online service last week, Davis said it was part of an ongoing effort by Lycos to compete with Yahoo. In March, Yahoo joined forces with MCI Communications to offer Yahoo-branded Net access to MCI customers. Davis said Lycos also is gearing up to launch an automated search directory to compete with Yahoo's search service.
