S3's new 3D chip has Glueless Interface for... HW MPEG-2 Decoders and Video Digitizers via it's 60MHz VIP Video Port (which allows HDTV Resolutions). Also says it has internal support for DVD acceleration but that's just color space conversion, and hardware stretch. Marketing gimmick. Interestingly though is the mention that it lists MPEG-2 Video Textures in it's 3D support. Cool now I can have a video running on a globe... s3.com
