Not sure why you're interested in any of this, since you have no stake in VVUS. Are you a PFE SH?
That's correct. My wife is a pharmacist, and based on her input I have invested in PFE. In no way do I view this as a VVUS vs. PFE thing, as I know you yourself do not. My interest in posting is simply to generate discussion, positive or negative for either VVUS or PFE.
It is absurd to say that no disappointed Viagra patients will go to MUSE
You are correct, in my simplified case I should have had 1 go to MUSE. Somewhere out there is a small group of people who will try Viagra, and for whom it will fail, who will then try an alternative like MUSE.
I think we all agree that it's easier to swallow a pill than take a penile suppository.
Understatement of the year. :-) Seriously, I think this is the gist of our disagreement. You believe the increased marketplace includes people who would be willing to try a suppository if the pill fails. I believe the delta between last year's marketplace and this year's marketplace does not include any substantial number of men who will try anything but an easy to take tablet. Simply, zero times a big number is still zero.
What do you make out of the fact that the rates of decline in Muse scripts have slowed?
At some point you will get down to the core group of MUSE takers for whom the drug has been a success, and Viagra has not. The decline in new scripts will slow as you approach this number. As Viagra scripts cannot keep their sustained growth nor can MUSE scripts sustain their decline.
The fact is with so many people short VVUS, there may still be money to be made from here. If the numbers even hint that VVUS can participate in the increased marketplace caused by Viagra, VVUS shareholders holding at this level will be rewarded.
