Well, one man's proof is another man's poison, I guess, eh
For me, this business of 'faith' is like closing your eyes and diving in when you don't know if there's water down there or not, or how deep it is, or if it's boiling or frozen. So I climb down the bank and gingerly stick my toe in from time to time, and stick a pole in the water to test the depth, using what I have, which I call a 'mind'. And always choose to return to the top of the rock where there is a better view, having found no depth, and having often found the temperature uncomfortable. The profusion of pools into which one can jump is also quite confusing, imho.
Of course, you would perhaps describe 'faith' as an opening of eyes - well, each to his own, eh. It is not my purpose to change anyone's belief structure, I don't have anything to change it to anyway. Several close family members and friends of mine are very religious, and in all cases it gives them obvious comfort and happiness, and is in my opinion a good thing - for them.
