James O'Brien>> "I don't know where the smarmy adolescent attitude is coming from..."
Nice ad hominem.
James O'Brien>> "but it has nothing do with the content of what I posted...."
Sure it does. What you posted was simply a rehash of what I've been reading from market "predictors" (professional and otherwise) for the last 5000+ Dow points.
And now your "At some point, the bubble will burst ...." statement comes along, stated like it's some kind of pre-destined fact, and that anyone who doesn't buy into is some kind of idiot.
Well, people have been selling this line for quite a while now, and the only people who have been hurt are the ones who have been buying it.
It's so hackneyed.
James O'Brien>> "You don't honestly think the market will go up indefinitely do you?"
Well, I guess that depends on what you mean by "up", and by "indefinitely".
If I look at history, and take a 20 year time span, which is what I'm investing for, then yes, I believe the market will go "up" - "indefinitely". And I have decades of history to back me up.
However, I really have no idea. And neither do you.
The difference is, I would never proclaim that I know (or even think I know) what is going to happen, because such a prediction is totally, and completely worthless. As was yours.
The less experienced investors reading these boards need to be reminded of this now and then. |
