Muizz,

This happened yesterday too. I have access to real time quotes so I can tell you exactly what happened. On the NYSE it closed around $26, but on the Pacific exchange a trade went through at $25 and it was the last trade that occurred so that is the price that used for quotes. Yesterday, it closed around $25 on the NYSE but one trade for only 200 shares went through on the Pacific exchange at $24 so this was the last available quote. So the stock today really gained $1. Quote services always report the last trade.
