I'm sorry my point was lost on you.

My contribution was a tongue-in-cheek take-off on ol' William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Recall that Brutus killed Caesar, partly because of Caesar's ambition.

One of Jesse Berst's main arguments was that Borland had attempted to be excellent in too many software packages, from tools to databases to spreadsheets. He used Borland's "ambition" as a justification in what was essentially an attack piece.

What it should lend to your investment decision is that you shouldn't just rely on attack pieces like Berst's, but should consider the full range of qualities of a company as well.

Borland has been kind to me, faithful and just and I hate for them to be stabbed in the back over a name change.
