Thanx for the news on Erikson & ATT. I've also yet to see the new HP 120 organizer on the street; I look forward to buying one soon. Mentioned WINK in my last post so I guess I'll share what I can. I hope the info is accurate. Brian Dougherty is the Chairman of Geowrxs & the President of Wink, a GEOS subsidery. The 'Wink Engine'is an Interactive Communicating Applications Protocal,(ICAP),128k,which is scalable to both analog & digital transmission. "Wink tech.is to the TV platform what Jave or Netscape is to the PC.",says Mr. Dougherty. IDS, Interactive Digital Solutions, a media software co. founded by Silicon Graphics, AT&T, & Time Warner use the 'Wink Engine'to offer interactive TV thru General Instruments & Scientific Atlanta set top boxes. I believe most of the major Japanese mfgs.of TV's are currently releasing new HDTV models in Japan that feature 'Wink Engine' interactivity. This is what I've heard,& if anybody can 'update', thank you in advance. I agree that 'smart phones' will be big, but in researching such a dynamic field there seems to be an unusually large amt. of variables & unknowns, many new, exciting, yet very small entities, seem to be innovating & providing component technologies which blur the lines of the existing paradigm of computing, entertainment, business, telephony, what pieces & or components will GWRX provide? Don't both MSFT & NOVL have products, or announced products, to support what is currently a fledgling portion of the communications industry? How does the GWRX op.sys.compare to products offered by such companies as Microtec? How, or is GWRX, used in such fledgling start ups as IREADY, or Diba? Are they competition or customers? Lotz of Q's!
