Hi Dale
I don't track the various removable drives, but do note what the
trade is trying to peddle in it's many pitches to the resellers.
The wholesalers can be categorized into a first tier, second tier
or third tier supplier.

As far as the first tier ( Ingram , Merisel )we haven't seen much,
these guys are the ones that would signify a market trend.

The second tier ( D+H Dist, Globell etc ) have been doing
some features grouped with other category items at competitive pricing.

The third tier ( local one or two state distributors ) have been touting these with blow-out prices ( around $75.00 ) indications are that they are selling in limited qualities nothing to write home about.

FWIW, We're now buying retail ATAPI Zip drives for $82.00, give the
distributor 10 points and IOM still makes money, these guys will go lower.
Noticed that one of the major box builders had the Zip drive option pre-checked.

Zip is helping these guys make a better margin !
