Western Digital now buys most of its heads from APM and RDRT. In 1999 it will be buying some <a lot?> of them from IBM.

I think the market feels that:

It is good for IBM. Another customer.
Bad for APM and RDRT. Losing sales.
Nothing special for WDC.

I think, it is good for WDC long term, helping WDC keep up with the technology, but no help short term.
