Bill-
I have Pacbell as my ISDN line provider, and Pacbell also for my ISP, but my disconnect problem was with the ISDN line itself. So I just started calling them and complaining about the high cost of the line, and how they promised digital reliability if I upgraded from my standard analog lines. I think I finally got through to them, but who knows, I may be just lucky that the line is stable now. I don't think that the Pacbell ISP is anything great, and they are two different entities, so they don't seem to care what the other is doing. It may be important to get on the same backbone as cyber, I know that has helped me in the past with other data providers. A uunet connection may also be possible, if there is a uunet provider with a toll-free line near you, and cyber will support it. I get 120 to 600 millisec. response times with my provider too, I consider anything under 200mils really good, but judge for yourself how your data feed is acting. Some days there are problems with the net, or my ISP, or my data provider, and it just turns out to be a good day to go work in the yard or go for a walk, and the heck with trading for the day! -ojai |
