Completion Of A Private Placement

ALEXANDER NEWS INTERNATIONAL INC ("AWS-Y;AXNIF-L")

- Completion Of A Private Placement

DONALD O'SULLIVAN, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN of ALEXANDER NEWS
INTERNATIONAL INC is pleased to announce the completion of a private placement. The company
has issued 500,000 shares @ $0.50 per share for net proceeds of $250,000 through a client of Credit
Suisse of Zurich, Switzerland. To date the company has raised a total of $1,243,718 since the
completion of it's Reverse-Take-Over on the 23rd of April, 1997.

Proceeds from the private placements have been directed to the exploration of the company's 34,202
hectares (84,515 acres) on the Harare-Shamva Archean greenstone belt, 70 km north of Harare, the
capital city of Zimbabwe.

Watts, Griffis & McOuat have outlined phases one and two of the exploration program. WGM has
identified five targets requiring drilling, Foot 22 claims, Denham claims, Bulldog mine, Glendale Stock
West, and the Glendale Stock East. The Foot 22 and the Denham claims have returned grades of 99 g
Au/t and 32.6 g Au/t respectively, through trench sampling.

"WGM believes that the combination of the geology, mineralisation and airborne geophysics indicate
that the property has potential for hosting a substantial gold deposit."
