Bob, We have discussed that once before, it seems to me, and the answer (if I recall correctly) was that "mostly" mask prices do not fall over time. The exception cited was possibly when they are able to reduce the cost of producing a mask, they will pass on the savings to the chip-maker. Finding ways to reduce costs then helps a photomask supplier in the competition with other suppliers.
Hope I have caught the essense of it there.. open for more comment. TSO
