It has been my impression that there are Japanese CMP companies (Ebara, supposedly Sony is bringing out a CMP unit, ...) This is a dim remembrance from the Speedfam thread. There are also Japanese laser companies (Komatsu?), stepper manufacturers (Nikon, Canon), and so on. I don't know what proportion of semi equipment is available from Japan. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could help me out. Steve
