Hi Christine, Although we have a very mild climate here, a lot of plants don't grow very well on the Texas coast. Ice plant isn't seen, probably because of the temperatures in the 90's with high humidity for 6 months. The only grasses that survive are Bermuda and carpet grass. Things that grow well are citrus, bananas, palms, tomatoes, squash, legumes, etc. Things that do poorly are strawberries, raspberries, apples, corn, melons, and cukes. You could still get your cukes from the grocer though Christine.
