"most asian VCD manufactuer NOT using Cube's Mpeg1 chip"???????? Where did you get this hogwash?? - Most DO use Cube chips. Cube's got the major Korean, Japanese, and Chinese manufacturers. What's left over goes to the ESST's, etc. Do a search on techweb and find all the pressreleases for VideoCD under Cube. What's more, many here and on the ESST thread seem to feel that having a customer for VideoCD is of no significance when it comes to DVD. I disagree. Cost is not everything. So long as Cube is competitive, they will go with Cube because customers will be comfortable that it will be delivered and work. In my opinion, this story has a long way to go.
