ICG and NETCOM to Offer Data and Voice Services Under New ICG Netcom Brand

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 4 /PRNewswire/ via NewsEdge Corporation -- ICG Communications, Inc., (Nasdaq: ICGX) announced today that its telecom division, ICG Telecom Group, and NETCOM On-Line Communication Services, Inc., the global Internet service provider it acquired in January, will begin to offer products and services under the brand name ICG Netcom. The new brand will encompass a full range of voice, data, and Internet products and services and further positions ICG Netcom as one of the nation's leading integrated communications providers (ICPs). ICG Communications, Inc., the parent company, will continue to trade its stock under the symbol ICGX.
With expertise in local, long distance telephone, data networking and Internet access, ICG Netcom provides customers with flexible, integrated and easy-to-use products at competitive prices. These solutions address the range and scale of integrated communications needs of individuals and small- to medium-sized companies across the United States.
ICG Netcom will introduce a branding campaign in selected markets beginning in early May. Using the theme of "Let's Talk About Your Business," this initiative will include print advertising and billboards with high- profile celebrity athlete endorsements. The initiative highlights the company's personal approach to working with small- to medium-sized businesses.
The athletes featured in the billboards will be: Larry Walker of the Colorado Rockies, Jerry Rice of the San Francisco 49ers, Eric Karros of Los Angeles Dodgers, Jaret Wright of the Cleveland Indians, and Greg Maddux of the Atlanta Braves.
According to Bryan, "The ICG Netcom name will be phased into company operations over the next year. The new brand name will highlight the synergy of the combined company and its unique position in the marketplace.
