If the bears are so worried about AOL and its accounting practices, please by all means go to their web site and post a complaint, or send an email. AOL is already under a microscope with the SEC as it is - it would be very bold of mgmt. to take more aggressive measures to boost eps - I'm sure whatever numbers are released, our resident lurking bears will analyze it to the 10th decimal.

Shorting right before an earnings announcment is very risky, especially when the CFO says he is "comfortable" with the .12 (caveat - with AOL, shorting is always risky!). Len sticking his neck out like that, I hope to see eps come in a few points higher. Of course, I think the market has already priced that into the stock, so bulls need blowout numbers, and good news about the business model working.

Seems like everyone and their mother has jumped on the "portal" bandwagon. Yawn. Do they really think I have the need for 5-6 portals to the internet? I hardly use 1! And free e-mail. How many e-mail accounts do I need? Somewhere along the line, one wants to be able to build an identity. Hell, I'm surprised silicon investor hasn't given away free e-mail accounts! Wouldn't be surprised to see some soon...

Awaiting tomorrow.
