Hey John, I'm unaware of another company that could offer a combo to CYTC like DIGE in their HPV test. Compatability's probably not much of an issue, the fact that it exists is. DIGE responded nicely to the announcement of alliance w/CYTC, not to the latest FDA-CYTC announcement. I'm expecting DIGE to go along for the ride, but it hasn't happend yet. Also, the CEO was from Abbott (sp!). I think management is emphasizing hiring experienced, talented people in order to properly commercialize the ThinPrep platform. Who is the competition that the gyn's know of? If we're going to do this phenomina investing justice, we should short these guys and buy CYTC, DIGE and possibly NPTH. Options would be even better. Contact Anne Rivers @ CYTC for an investor's info kit 508-266-3010, but don't wait for its arrival to invest. EDGAR on the Web has the prospectus for immediate review, if you need it. Thanks for the IGEN tip. Glad you were able to get in on the news. I think CYTC is building their own sales force, a partner isn't necessary. One may be forced on them in a buyout, but sufficient protection exists in the prospectus to make it a VERY expensive acquisition. 3M shares were offered in the IPO 3/8/96, more are on the market. How's your accounting skills? That's what's needed to examine their cash position for future ops.
