Compaq Computer To Market the FOCUS Enhancements TView Gold to Selective Compaq Markets
SUDBURY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1998--FOCUS Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ:FCSE - news; NASDAQ:FCSEW - news) announced today that Compaq Computer has selected FOCUS Enhancements' TView Gold Video Scan Converter as its PC-to-TV video solution for its G.E.M. vertical markets (Government, Education, and Medical). The TView Gold will allow Compaq Computer users to display computer-generated graphics on any television, to use the television as a large screen display, and to record their computer-generated graphics to VHS videotape.

The TView Gold incorporates the new TView FS300 digital video co-processor with FOCUS Enhancements' proprietary technology. The TView Gold delivers plug-and-play performance by supporting any refresh rate up to 90Hz and resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. The TView Gold delivers underscaling and compression using FOCUS' unique Digital Video Processing technology. FOCUS' DVP delivers truer colors, uniform color saturation, and variable scaling.

Only FOCUS' DVP will allow the user to independently shape the video picture to any TV screen in the world, even on wide screen Tvs. The TView Gold has a suggested price of $399 and is on the Compaq GEM price list. The TView Gold will be available to Authorized Compaq Resellers.
