This is an excerpt from a Forbes Magazine article dated Juny29,1996. "A small army of freelance stock promoters sell their services to Nasdaq issuers in exchange for either cash or cheap stock. These folks promise to produce a big increase in volume or to get the stock to a certain price. They do it by getting some friends to post bullish "information" about the stock on the Internet. By sounding knowledgeable about the company, these freelancers impress the Internet's stock market junkies, who buy into the story."

Bill, if you are trying to say that not one single person is influenced by theses threads, then try looking at real time share movements. Many times there are stock jumps in either direction after very negative or hipped positive posts. It only takes one or two trades to start a cascading fall or a runaway climb on some stocks "under certain conditions".
