Something that is starting to bother me is that BORL's Client Server/Enterprise sales accounted for 57% of sales, but the core tools numbers were down.

This indicates (to me at least), that BORL's original customer base is not buying the uprades like they used to. As an owner of Delphi 1,2,3 C++Builder 1 3, and JBuilder 1, I bought these out of loyalty and curiosity. Documentation problems notwithstanding, these products have been nothing but excellent (I'd rather read the VCL source than pour thru doc anyway). I use Delphi 3 and am slowly converting to BCB 3 for my development. Except for the new Project Manager, it is hard for me to imagine what they could add in the future that would really make my life easier (sans multiple inheritance). I believe people are quite satisfied (for the most part), with the existing products and that is why there are fewer upgrades going on. Perhaps BORL should put some planned obsolescence (like MSFT) in to make people feel the need to upgrade.

I bought the upgrades to VC++, not out of loyalty, but out of disgust for the product in hopes that the new versions would be better.
