Another thought -- Of 12 million shares outstanding I hear a mention of a float of 5 million. What is the difference between float and shares outstanding?

Many/most of these shares are held by "true believers" who have sold part of their holdings or who will not sell at any price. How many shares are actually being traded in this market.
