BEIJING, May 5 (Reuters) - Intel Corp INTC chairman Andrew Grove on Tuesday announced plans to invest $50 million over the next five years to build an information technology research centre in China.....

Grove, also chief executive officer of the U.S. microchip giant, said the Asian economic slowdown had been a factor in the firm's recent slower revenue growth. "The slowdown of economic growth in Asia has contributed in a measurable fashion to both...our slower revenue growth and the PC industry's lower growth expectations," he said.

"Frankly, I don't think the Asian situation is likely to be remedied in very quick order," he added. But the Intel chief said he viewed China as a long-term investment and a country likely to eventually become the world's second or third largest market for PCs.<<

Interesting comments from Craig's boss. Sounds like Andy Grove is thinking recovery will take longer than Craig does. I like Grove's frank statements.
