Herb... well, System 7.6.1 is disabled. The Systema and Finder are not in the same folder. Also, it won't boot from the G3. G3 requires 8.0 or later. So, yes, it is on the same partition as the 8.1 System Folder, where I put it for a few reasons: I wanted to drag some stuff from it to 8.1 (which is what probably caused these problems) rather than reinstalling all my software from scratch, and it was a backup for the PB, sort of. Some sweet guy from Apple sales in Texas called today to provide comfort and support. He read about the 3400 story here. :-) I forgot to ask him for a free Wall Street PowerBook. Darn. Linda
