Anyone who did not take their lumps and seek fortune elsewhere after all this time will most likely continue to hold in the face of rising expectations.

I've seen quite a few people who "give up" on some stocks and do not sell them. When (if) they recover, they are happy to get out even since they had chalked up the entire thing as a loss in their minds. If they never recover they keep them as penny stocks somewhere in the attic (in fact, once your losses are large enough, this is actually a sensible strategy).
