Paul,IMO not a very good Q1.A couple of things I found interesting:
1.They have sold all their Deswell shares.
2.Koo sold 560,000 shares on April 1,1998 at an average sales price of $16.88.The key word is sales price. It looks to me like the company brought 613,732 shares in Q2 at an average price of $16.56.Did Koo sell his shares back to the company? I hope some analyst asks the question. If my conjecture is correct I will call the SEC to see if this was legal.
3.Sales were down more than I thought, but profit margins improved.
4.The forward looking statements,at least for the next 2 quarters, do not look encouraging.
5.Acquisition update-"will yield results before the end of July 1998".What exactly does this mean? If another company used the same wording I would be optimistic.
6.I don't know if the analysts' eps projections of $.40+ for the quarter included non-operating income.

What are your thoughts?
David
