Headline: Spyglass Announces Sales and Marketing Expansion to Better Address
Burgeoning Web-Device Market

======================================================================
NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Spyglass Inc. (Nasdaq: SPYG), the
industry leading supplier of software and services for making devices work
with the World Wide Web, announced today an aggressive expansion of its
worldwide sales and marketing operations.
President and CEO Doug Colbeth said that Spyglass has realigned sales and
marketing to better address higher demands for the company's products and
services coming from the burgeoning Web-device market.
According to Colbeth, growing demand for Spyglass technology in key
International markets has made it necessary to have international managers
report directly to the President's office. Spyglass Asia-Pacific, headed by
Michael Conley, managing director - Asia Pacific, and Spyglass' European
operations, scheduled to open by the end of 1996, will report directly to
Colbeth. North America sales will continue to operate East and West
operations. Tom Banahan, former vice president of sales, has left the company
to pursue other interests.
Jay Friedland, founder and former vice president of marketing for
SurfWatch, which was acquired by Spyglass earlier this year, has been
appointed vice president of strategic marketing for Spyglass. In his new
role, Friedland will work more directly with key Spyglass partners, such as
Microsoft Corp., Microware Systems Corp., Integrated Systems Inc., Oracle
Corp. and WebTV Networks, to maximize business and marketing opportunities.
In addition, he will develop key marketing programs with new customers and
form important strategic alliances in the device marketplace. He reports to
Colbeth.
Early this year, Spyglass brought on board a 10-year veteran of the
computer industry to head up marketing for the company. Reporting to the CEO
as well, Randy Littleson, vice president of marketing for Spyglass, will work
closely with Friedland to develop marketing programs to address the huge
potential of the Web-device marketplace,
"As a company, it is absolutely imperative that we build an organization
that will make us successful in the device market," said Colbeth. "One of our
greatest assets is our strong management team. It is very important that we
build an organization structure that allows us to take advantage of their
skills and abilities. These steps are key to our success as we move into this
burgeoning market."
In October, the company announced an aggressive push to expand its
presence and build on its role as the leading provider of software that makes
devices, including televisions, phones, cars and other consumer products, work
with the Web.
