Joe - I agree that short term the lack of capital in Asia is likely to hurt AMAT et al.. But as soon as excess capacity is soaked up, other areas will expand into the void left by SEA - as long as end consumer demand is intact. There are, of course, numerous caveats to this. For instance: Non-SEA OEMs are working down inventories and conserving capital because they have macro-economic concerns. Motorola, for instance, said exactly that - they would hold off on some capital expenditures until they were absolutely sure how the macro-economic situation works out.
