I'm a professional musician who reads music very well and performs with many well known artists day in and day out. Many of my contemporaries who cannot read music use the same type of argument, i.e. the fact that I can read music so well is "proof" of my having no musical creativity.

Hogwash! There is always someone somewhere trying to justify his own inadequacies!
