Hi Eddie: You also might want to look at selling either the Novemebr 12 1/2 call or December 12 1/2 call or even the December 15 call. The preminums are huge because of the 'potential' buy-out speculation. Here is my suggestion. Sell the November 12 1/2 call for 1/2 or greater (note: Friday it traded as high as 3/4). Wait five days as this is the expiration period for the November calls. Then sell the December 12 1/2 calls (for $1) or the December 15 calls. Novell is to announce earnings the first week of December. If they are good, then watch out , stock should go higher and you will probably loose your stock. If earnings are bad, you will already have locked in about 1 1/2 preminum and you will still be in the stock with the rest of us.

Good Luck and Good Trading.

P.S. Remember Novel does obtain about 50% of their revenues from non-US sources and if the U.S. dollar declines as many think will happen in 1977, Novell will be a good investment based on the curreny conversion gains. These are the other things a fundamental investor looks at when investing for the long term.

Warren Buffet always made his money holding for the long term. Invest in value and a good management team. Well Novell has value and it is still yet to be determined weather Novell's management meets Warren Buffets criteria. <Right Joe?>
