Hi Richard, I agree higher oil prices are inevitable in the future and in fact there is a strong argument that 90% of the earth's reserves have already been found.

If you really want to get educated on the world's reserves and other in depth statistics an excellent book recently published is "The Coming Oil Crisis" by Colin Campbell. You could call Geneva based Petroconsultants SA for a copy (I believe they have a Houston office).

If you believe what he says, you want to be buying companies with a large proven reserve base in antisipation of skyrocketing oil prices. Colin's comment was he would not touch an exploration company with a ten foot pole because all the big fields and the majority of oil has been found. Each to their own!

I don't know what price oil needs to be for US fields to be economical and it will vary from field to field but I do know many US wells are being shut-in at todays price.

Maybe we should all invest in alternative fuel technologies. Know any?
