A years sabbatical from FORE did me good. And I feel no guilt about reentering at a price similar to those who had to go through the agony of waiting for earnings.
I must admit that your insights have been pretty good and, looking back, you were right
If it were only so. I suffered massive blood loss last October. Took months to regain any confidence. My wound from MTZ (Mastec) is still bleeding, and may worsen when earnings are released.
There was a small piece on the news about Warren Buffet. One of the things he said was that he knew people would drink Coke or buy Gillette razors, but he didn't know what buttons people were going to click on the internet in three years. I may not agree, but here's a guy who is far from wrong.
I will also add, Jas, that you do have a knack for pissing people off!!!
Next to trying to make money on stocks, that's my main reason for living. I get bored with innocuous remarks about the wonders of ATM, or incessant cheering and unsubstantiated rumor from the likes of Adam (I don't think you were around then. Check posts around May 1997 for examples) or Cliff Clavin's buddy.
Good product suite, aggressive advertising, good PR, and good timing (ATM is back in vogue). If Gill & Co execute well, we could be rewarded handsomely here. Then, on the top of that, a takeover could be not only a possibility but the icing on the cake.
Well said, but common sense can only fill a few posts. Nonsense can fill hundreds.
