If you want a very graphic demonstration of the crappy job done at ORCL, do a 40 month chart comparing ORCL with SAP, BAANF, PSFT, MSFT. Michelle is correct that the dbms market is heading for lower prices thanks to MSFT. ORCL may have some high end space, but, there's not much growth there either. I think the problem with this company is that one guy controls it and he's not been doing a terribly good job the past three or four years in finding a long term direction that will really pay off for the company. LE is worth billions, that's great for him and it probably doesn't matter as much to him whether he's worth $5B or $10B as it does whether he's considered the equal of Gates in terms of influence on the computing industry.

ORCL is at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to corporate apps. This is a bad place to be! It will be increasinly commoditized as Michelle says. The money is made at the top of the chain where SAP, et al, are!
