Thanks 24601, now I understand what is meant by distributed.

It seems to me however that there is nothing proprietary about the encryption part. So a DVD or software can have some other company's encryption code burned in, but it can still be activated over the Internet. The only advnatage the WAVX chip seems to have is that you don't have to sign on to the Internet. If this interpretation is correct, this advantage seems small, because most computer users are wired to the Internet, and the only time a Wave chip would be useful for enabling your product is when the phone lines are down and you have GOT to play that video game. Or I guess you could argue it saves you a phone call.
