John, I used to travel the tech sector and saw this kind of thing all the time. It is insane. This internet mania is what is keeping me out of the network sector all together. Even Cisco, an outstanding corporation, will suffer once people realize the music has stopped and there are NO chairs left! This is an important lesson...once learned it separates old timers from young bucks in the investment game. It is VERY difficult to sit on companies YOU know are outstanding but the market is not rewarding. Instead you see all these trash stocks going into orbit...or at least stocks becoming grossly overvalued. So you think, ah, I shall sell one of my non-movers and go for the momentum stocks. Bad, bad choice. Patience will be rewarded. Greed and a lack of a solid investment philosophy will cause more than capital loss...it will play havoc with one's emotional stability. Been there. Have scars to prove it. Sleeping soundly with a well OILED portfolio. <H>
