some old business -- remember that post about Microsoft Money increasing its price for CKFR customers?

I asked CKFR, and they said they're not the ones raising prices. Must be Bill Gates.

E-mail exchange follows:

Jim asked me to respond to your e-mail. CheckFree has not had a price increase. We do not know how banks structure their pricing and we are not informed if/when they have a price increase.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Subject: Price increase?

I am a Checkfree investor. Could you please tell me whether there has recently been a price increase for Microsoft Money users using CKFR? And if so, is the price increase attributable to Checkfree, Microsoft, or what?

A number of us on the Silicon Investor site are very interested in how the competition between CKFR and MS/FDC is going. And naturally, we are wondering what is behind this price increase (if there is one) and how it might affect CKFR and MS/FDC.

The reason for my question is this post by a Money user:

Subject: CheckFree's new rates for Money users From: "Jerry Nighswander" <jfox@infonline.net> Date: 1998/04/27

Has anyone gotten the new rate sheet from CheckFree (not). I cannot believe they are increasing their charges by $4.50 per month and cutting
the number of transactions for the basic fee from 20 to 15 per month. Where is their head?

What other services are other people using? I know I won't be using CheckExpensive for much longer.
