Jos‚ explained, "Well you see it's like this Se¤or Germond... we don't usually have crocodiles... just the small caimens, but this big old croc... she just showed up in this swamp last year. The strange thing was that she showed up on the same night that the local medicine woman died. It is said that perhaps the spirit of the medicine woman may now be found in this big old crocodile. Normally, people stay well away from her Se¤or Germond, but sometimes they bring her small offerings of cabrita or chicken when they wish a favour from her."

Jack rubbed his chin and thought about this for a minute. "So, you think this works....this thing about bringing a little gift for the crocodile and then receiving a favour?"

"So it is said, Se¤or... Many have found this to be true" Jos‚ replied.

Jack stood looking down upon the crocodile from the relative safety of the riverbank. Those large golden eyes seemed vaguely familiar, and the the slightest curling smile seemed to play about the corners of those massive crocodilian jaws. And then...by jiminy... if she didn't wink at him... ;-}>
