About WebCompass, there's a page there for it and all, for
version 2, under the main Products listing but it isn't
present in any of the groupings that I believe appear
before the listing of all products. So, if you look under
communication and networking stuff or any other category,
WebCompass doesn't seem to be there.

Add to that that a few months back (around Feb. 98 I think)
the program had disappeared from the shelves of a CompUSA
that had stocked it before (where I first noticed it). It
wasn't clear as to why it had disappeared--I think the copies were sent back to QDEK for reasons that were vague. Perhaps it was
to prepare the channel for version 3, but so far I haven't
seen any sign of version 3. Maybe I've just missed some news
but it does seem odd. Also odd is how they really didn't push
the product given how it is connected to the stock-price-inflating
world of the internet.

I do remember hearing, probably on this board, some months ago
that version 2 wasn't handled so well, with demo versions that
I think ended up working permanently or some weirdness like that
which didn't help with their sales efforts. Who knows, could be
they are being stealthy but if so, I wonder why given how
the stock market seems to be intoxicated by the vapors (and
the vaporware) of the internet.
