PC Data reports a whopping 13 units of Webcompass (8 of 2.0, 5 of 1.0 at $1.50 bargain prices) in March '98. This is down from over 100 units in January.

This suggests that the product is being flushed from the channel, either because the product is ready to be revved or they are canning the product altogether. It should also be noted that Symantec's competitive product, Internet Fastfind, only sold 16 units (through PC Data's participants, 70% of the US Retail market) in March. Cool products they may be, but if people won't pay for them, they don't make a good product development decision.
