Kelly, for all intents & purposes Cioffi isn't an Amati employee. Actually as far as I have been told, he is back at teaching and has no day to day management/operational responsibilities at Amati. Yes, he still has his title, but he isn't running or managing anything.

You can't put USRX & CSCO in the same league. USRX is trying to compete with ASND, not CSCO. If you want to see who is trying to sneak up to CSCO watch COMS. Not all networkers play in the same layer of the network. Cisco is trying to move to the higher layers. USRX is far from there.

If USRX were to be shopping for an ADSL company, Amati would indeed be attractive. Though for reasons you haven't mentioned. USRX believes in owning the technology and not licensing. That would be the main driver in my opinion. However, if they were to make a bid for any xDSL company anytime soon, they would lose credibility because of the big deal they have made of 56Kbps.

Let's just agree to disagree. You may be right, I may be wrong. These are just opinions. Techie
