Dear Dan
I am not arguing any superiority for Jews. You must admit anti-semitisim is rampant. I am only defending Israel, which is scriptural. Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
I personally believe it was not necessary, and this confusion is cleared up in Acts at the council of Jerusalem. However if a man feels that an act gives honor to G-d, I will not forbid it, G-d knows the heart not me. Don't all Christians follow traditions that have nothing to do with the gospel. How about Easter eggs?
I agree, we should drop this issue, and accept believing Jews as brothers, and unbelieving Jews as less than loved ones of G-d in need of their Messiah.
Until then I will defend them: Jude:3 Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.
How about you?
