Thank you Mr. Sprague. I can see that the advantages of the chip are not that small.

I think however that you will have to go to great lengths to convince end users (PC owners) that the chip is MORE anonymous that software/Net based solutions. One roadblock I see is the psychological one, namely, having a monitoring device with intimate information (right down to your individual keystrokes) installed on your computer.

The deep suspicion that Americans have of government/corporate interference is beyond dispute. You have no look no further than this ridiculous rumor about AOL putting a Java cookie on your computer if you install AOL 4.0. Or you can look at the failure of the network box (who wants their private files stored on a remote server?).
