The mention of DCLK in the Reuters article was NOT positive toward NETZ. Here it is in context:

" The company was seen as a major rival of DoubleClick Inc. (NASDAQ:DCLK). But the company has undergone an executive exodus since the fall, when Softbank (TOKYO:9984), the Japanese software and media giant, put the company up for sale, and has maintained a significantly lower profile since Zulu-tek acquired it."

The company WAS seen as a major rival of DoubleClick Inc. Past tense. The implication is that it is not now seen as a major rival of DoubleClick. The article immediatly goes on to explain why the company is no longer seen as a major rival. The word "but" starting the next stentence clearly links the statements about the exodos of executives (NOT referred to as a "house-cleaning", but as an EXODOS, NOT a positive) etc. to the previous sentence. (I have to point this out in excrutiating detail, because if I don't it will be claimed that that sentence has nothing to do with the previous one...)
