Barron's Abelson is one of the best contrarian indicators I know--frequently he bashes the tech sector (along with WSJ which is a sister company), and then the tech sector rallies. I think these guys have a huge vested interest in VOLATILITY, thus their job is to create it. Or, an equally likely theory is: in sensing the tech market's comeback, they wish to drive the prices down to rebuild their inventories on the cheap. I have witnessed this for more than 10 years at least....sorry for being cynical about Wall St. Ibexx
