Jack,
I tend to follow the longer term charts as I am an investor versus a trader. I like to see multi-year charts with basing and then a breakout from this range. Since most of these companies tend to be turnarounds ( ie huge correction and then one or more years basing ), I look for indicators that the company is turning its operations around. Some of the best indicators that I have found is the company insiders who buy shares near and at the low. If they continue to buy on the way up . . I become more encouraged.
Not sure what you mean by the term " hate factor ".
