From the Singapore analysts conference:
(this I got from an analyst friend who was quite cross with the level of detail I wanted!)

1. Guidance: No change but some upside possible from the 20-25% revenue growth range if all the major products perform as expected (these are SBL, PCI products, PC-DVD, Voodoo2 and speakers).

2. DVD-RAM could be coming out soon.

3. DELL OEM contract has been confirmed terminated. Now only offered on top end as an alternative to Turtle Beach. Same thing happened with Compaq a while back. BUT GET THIS - Creaf has managed to seal contracts with HP, Gateway, Micron, Fujitsu, NEC and Packard Bell for the ENSONIQ and AWE64D! Probably some sort of record. Pity about DELL though, ...

4. IDC forecast apparently 10m PC-DVD drives in 98, from <1m in 97. Some 45m in 99 and 90m in 2000!!!

5. Cambridge SoundWorks market share jumped to 14% end March 98 (from 0% in Jan97).

6. 64% of people polled on the internet want to buy Creaf Voodoo2 (versus DIMD at 24%).

7. Creaf audio market share 69%.

8. PC-Data says Creaf has 86% of US market in PC-DVD. Worldwide even higher.

9. Ingram Jan 98 best seller list - Creaf graphics cards no.1.

10. Long term future prospects - Creaf will raise standards in all segments so quickly that CPU-based or software based solutions will not be adequate or cost-competitive. Creaf will also participate in software solutions if CPU power becomes powerful enough (of course get paid for it). No matter what still need speakers, so that segment will not affected. Will push for more speakers per PC. The Desktop theatre 5.1 also includes a AC-3 decoder (which is apparently quite expensive in itself) so is quite attractively priced.

11. USB - market unknown. Creaf working on a USB speaker but not going to focus here. USB only for 2 channels and not good solution. Creaf prefer to use 1394.

12. Overall - Sim was pretty bullish. Said 100m set aside by the board to buy back shares was in response to "internet" criticism that Creaf does not take care of shareholders!!! (way to go).

that's it
